So if you have 5 pieces of pie which make up a whole pie, then if you have all 5 pieces it is a whole pie. 5/5 = a whole.I think we need to do a few more problems of simplifying a fraction. If you had 4/8 you could simplify this by dividing 2 by 4 and 8 and you would get 2/4 because 2 into 4 goes 2 times and 2 into 8 goes 4 times.
