What is the steadfast and why?
Well on my camp for 2020 I would like to share one of the activities that we did in the 5 days we were there.
The stead fast is a sailing ship in the Marlborough sounds that almost looks like a proper pirate ship this ship was built by one man himself it took a very big portion of his life 16 years!! Laurence etheredge (owner) and Richard de hamel (business Partner) have been running the steadfast tour for 13 years and take classes from all around new Zealand to sail on his boat and do all sorts of activities we got to use the old school way to detect our speed, drop a rope with a chunk of lead tied to it in the water to see how deep it is, steer the ship, look at marine vertebrates with a microscope, and be on watch for other boats in front of the ship including other sea life with the binoculars.
