Trip to Brunner mine Arli

This week we have been to the Brunner mine I've learnt lots on the way about history names and all how it exploded and how it was found .
here are some facts:
the person who found The coal at the Brunner mine had been sent from grey mouth down the grey river to find Jade , gold or coal apparently he saw a big black rock (coal) on the river side they pulled up in the canoe and he scrapped the black rock (coal) with his butchers knife and it scrapped into black dust so that means it was coal.

The Brunner mine was exploded by a naked flame probably a candle and mixed with gas which caused an explosion.

The Mine's Afire!

Here are some things about the Brunner Mine that I've been working on for the past few days. We started reading the Novel and we had to think about the things we would miss if we lived in 1896. I think I would miss all the stuff that I have to go hunting and fishing.

This is what I've been doing for the past two days of work about the NZ Brunner Mine disaster. This week we are going to begin to read the novel The Mines Afire! We read the historical notes first and had to answer the questions. Here are my answers.

Perimeter, Area and Volume

Kia Ora.  This is my week's blog posts on perimeter, area and volume.

WALT: how to measure and calculate perimeter, area and volume.

So to measure perimeter you have to add up each on every side of your area that your working with. All even sides it is easier than measuring the length of uneven sides for a perimeter.      

How to Measure area.
To measure Area you have to get the top length and times it by either of the sides that gives you the area here is a example. lets say the shapes area is measured by m you would write 6m2 because you are measuring 2D shapes.
 

Measuring volume.
is probably the hardest you have to predict how many squares / any shape to fill the shape.                                                                            Here is a slide of all my maths questions for Area perimeter and volume.

Prep 2018

This year for 2018 prep I've been a helper in rata 2 our younger
