explanation 4 how tears form week 7

Kia Ora guys today I want to share my piece of writing for the week about what happens in the anatomy when you cry enjoy.
Sadness happiness and anger the 3 most common emotions but when these emotions come in a vast form they all end up in the same situation tears, tears of happiness tears of sadness and tears of anger but havent you always wonder what triggers these tears inside the anatomy well lucky for you thats what im going to be writing about enjoy.

Tears, tears come in many different forms but always come from a strong flood of emotions as i said in the intro but where do they come from.

They come from a gland just above your eyelid. This gland is called a lacrimal gland, when a range of different feelings evaluate to an extent they trigger this lacrimal gland then tears start to invade and spread over and across the surface of the eye when you blink. They then disappear and drain into small holes in the corners of your upper and also lower eyelids right before traveling like a emotional roller coaster down your tear ducts into your nose (that's why you get a runny nose most the time when you cry) as your tears are streaming down your face suddenly stopping regularly on your checks like a young boy stopping too trick or treat on every house of his street hungry for scary halloween candy and then steaming it to the next house.

So maybe next time your crying you will understand what's actually happening to you.

prototec week 5 term 3

Kia Ora guys today I would like to share my weeks worth of prototec we have to do 5 a week and im on level 7 enjoy

Explanation writing 3

Kia Ora guys and gals today i'm going to share my third explanation piece of writing i have been working on this week it's about how tornadoes form.

Tornados and upside down soft serve ice cream pumping out high and very powerful winds and its twists and turns destroying everything in its path these natural phenomena are the most dramatic types of weather these moody and very agitated funnels HOW DO THEY FORM?! Well lucky for you that's what I'm going to be talking about today.

Tornados usually happen on a nice beautiful sunny day when the blurred blistering sun sends it heat beams too our earth in only 499 seconds that's why light is the fastest thing humans know of in the universe because that's the time it takes to travel 151.4 million km, any ways apart from the interrupting cool facts the sun heat up the ground and our cool air near the surface is heated all cosy and warm and because of that it rises typically this air will develop into a soft silky shallow cloud so called the cumulus clouds but only if our atmosphere is unstable this warm air will continue to rise to staggering heights and continue to turn into tall cumulonimbus clouds the sort you might see during a thunderstorm
Where this happens in an environment where the winds go from mellow to very strong with height, (known as the wind shear) typically when you have strong winds it twist and turns with a frightening whistle well that's what happens to the higher and stronger wind of the large cloud causing that wind to spin and slide down to the less agro wind slower winde below this creates an invisible horizontal wind spinning and rolling like a cylinder powerful warm so called updraughts tilt the cylinder vertically, creating a column of powerful spinning winds causing the cylinder to flip up like a can of soda.

Thunderstorms that exhibit persistent deep rotating updraughts, are a storm named (super) cells

Falling downdraughts of cold air sent down from the (supercell) help to bring the spinning cylinder column downwards towards the ground, eventually the rotation of the column? may become so strongly focused that a narrow funnel of violent air forms if this reaches the ground the tornado is born and living the most powerful tornadoes have speech stuttering winds exceeding 400km per hour and can lift trucks and destroy large buildings.

So everybody be aware if there is a stormy looking cloud on a sunny day because it could possibly be the start of a tornado.

Explanation writing Arli fresh water eels

Kia Ora guys and gals today i would like to share a piece of writing that i have been working on this week enjoy.

The jet black muscular body layered with many sheets of transparent slime that the texture of it feels like pva glue peeling of your hands satisfyingly belonging to the large magnificent freshwater eel which is what I will be sharing its life cycle with you today.

It's all starts when these magnificent creatures slip away from there fresh water homes (usually lurking in any freshwater creek, river or lake smelling with their strong sense of smell seeking any type of meat that they can stumble upon) as i was saying they separate from their home in autumn and swim to an unknown yet to be discovered breeding ground thousands of miles off the new zealand coastline into the tropical seas of the pacific

The larger and older eels then lay their eggs then the male eel will fertilize them. Unfortunately these unusual but satisfying and beautiful creatures die after the spawning process. These eggs that hatch into little larvae that rise to the surface of their breeding ground and drift through the magical blue ocean all the way to new Zealand's water compartments and of course to keep the eel species alive they restart the cycle.

Votes for woman Arli 2020

Kia Ora Today I would like to share my votes for woman's rights questions first we had to read a passage about woman's rights and then we had to answer these questions enjoy.

Votes for Women

1. How old do you need to be to vote in a general election in Britain today? 18

2. Why were women not allowed to vote in the 19th century? Because they were viewed as home makers to take care of the house while the men took care of financial politic business.

3. In which year did John Stuart Mill propose a bill to give women equal voting rights? June the 4th 1919

4. What does the word ‘suffrage’ mean? The right to vote in political elections

5. What kind of protest methods did the NUWSS use?
Led by Millicent Fawcett, the NUWSS used parliamentary procedure to try to achieve its aims, lobbying MPs through petitions, public meetings and letters, while influencing public opinion via local branch activities. Propaganda, often in the form of leaflets, played an important role in this.

6. How did the suffragettes’ methods differ from those used by the suffragists? suffragists believed in peaceful, constitutional campaign methods. In the early 20th century, after the suffragists failed to make significant progress, a new generation of activists emerged. These women became known as the suffragettes, and they were willing to take direct, militant action for the cause

7. What is Emily Wilding Davison remembered for? Born October 11, 1872, in London, England, Emily Wilding Davison was one of Britain's most famous suffragists. ... After leaving school, Davison found work as a teacher. She eventually started dedicating her spare time toIn social and political activism. In 1906, Davison joined the Women's Social and Political Union

8. Explain what ‘The Cat and Mouse Act’ was. The government passed a law called the cat and mouse act which allowed women to be released from jail.

9. What did the suffragettes do from 1914 onwards and why?

The outbreak of the First World War in 1914
prompted the suffragettes to suspend some of
their protests to help the war effort. This gained
them more support and proved that the women
were rational enough to be able to vote.
In 1918, the Representation of the People
Act allowed some women over the age of 30
who owned certain types of property to vote.
However, it was not until 1928, when the Equal
Franchise Act was passed, that all women over
21 were able to vote, giving them the same
voting rights as men.
In 1969, the voting age for both men and
women were lowered to 18. It remains this age
today.

10. In which year were all women over 21 given the same voting rights as men? 1928

Arli 2020 Term 2 autumn writing

Kia Ora this is Arli from Grey Main school Today i would like to my descriptive piece of writing about autumn with you enjoy.

Crunch Crunch as i scurry down the driveway crushing the bones of these poor leaves,
fluttering down like the soft fascinating flight of a butterfly eventually uniting on the ground with all the other dead butterflies with the smell of damp decaying leaves covered in watery mud and drowning in puddles.

I stroke my hand down the moss, soaked by the morning dew attached sucking like leeches on the sad tree.
Frowning and betrayed,
the tree sighs softly but loudly as his butterflies flutter to the ground off the end of his sleeping branches snoring in the soft calming wind leaving the depressed tree in blank colour,
except a few stranded dirty yellow leaves as the brown paints itself onto the colourist leaves eventually falling off.

I gaze at the silver sky i feel like i'm gazing upon a cold empty season sending a package of depression into my stomach as i gaze upon the sky all alone in my lonley imagination.

The old school notorious biggie smalls marches through my ears as my morning alarm confused Click into my head it's the cold fingertip numbing morning after a warm night of unusual dreams.

I swiftly swept a thicker blanket over my shivering body as the blanket shields me from the harsh frosty air transferring through my window, its 6:30 im not looking forward to going to school i try and pace my self encourage myself but even the toast crumbs in my bed prickling and irritating my soft skin my body is still frozen still ready to switch of my muscles i hear the soft morning wind swaying making a beautiful sound as the birds sing there melodies, sometimes if i'm lucky because it's still dark the entertaining morpork morporks to the other morporks.

I gather up all my courage and rush and emerge out of my bed as the cold attacks me causing me to shiver. I quickly slip on some deodorant and my uniform comes with.

Pop! Pop! Pop! Rice bubbles chatter away sailing the bermuda breakfast in my bowl of milk when the avalanche of sweet snow (sugar) piles down drowning the poor rice bubbles.

The treacherous white slug on a brush jumps into my mouth, me grunting at the mouth numbing mint that is painful stinging my gums.

I slip my cracked lunchbox and juice stained drink bottle that i made last night into my bag, as i leave i swing my bag around my back open the front door as i travel through Australia (inside) to Antarctica (outside) ready to progress through my day as i waddle down the driveway of large medium small rocks covered in fungi and moss i pass by a large number of chrome red glossy poisonous toadstool sending numbers of nuclear warheads (Stones) exploding them leaving damp shard and crumbs of mushroom everywhere, blood thirsty vampire sand flies and mossy's inject their needle feasting on my buffet of blood until they uncover their main enemy the fantail, it follows me all the way at least 3 of them everyday sway down sometimes centimetres from my face.

a pack of coke brown fuzzy fur baby wekas and their protective mom bolt to the other side with the moms patterned feathers pruning up trying to scare me away to keep the babies safe as they struggle with much hope to catch up, a good way to start my day.

The gas hisses as the bus driver slowly and painfully opens the door with a friendly good morning. I reply back slide into a seat seeking for a comfortable position as I doze off gazing at the beautiful countryside and bush of moana.

A special character Arli term 2 week 2 2020

Kia Ora this is Arli from Grey Main school. Today I would like to share a piece of writing that I wrote this week about a special character, enjoy.

A blonde flash whizzes past with little rubber gumboots thumping on the ground as they make an unique sound.

The mysterious sibling came with a special package, a puncture from some sort of rigid plastic toy peeling skin off my thigh as he paces off up the bush, his little legs struggling to push through the harsh environment working to uncover a hiding spot as he giggles his notorious giggle.

As I'm scavenging around trying to find him something, he sneaks up behind me with incredible stealth latches his teeth onto my arm and swings his head back and forth like a rottweiler on a burglar,
Leaving me with a purple blistered bruise.

CLINK CLONK CLINK…. Building Blocks build up higher, higher and higher making a one of a kind SKYSCRAPER almost looking like a stiff straightened out rainbow with all the different colour blocks.
VROOM VROOM!! The hot wheels grave digger monster truck drifts across the table leaving long fade scratches on the matte back table the monster truck does one more intense lap around the table now opposite to the vast rainbow skyscraper click he switches from neutral to first gear 2nd! 3rd! 4th! 5th! 6th!!! Building speed with the heavy duty monster truck and its enormous tyres spinning causing a cool illusion,
BOOM! The front bumper penetrates the 1st floor of the skyscraper sending it through a 180 spin I crawl painfully through all the plastic blocks with there sharp corners and plastic body's eating at my knees but I was too late!
Landing almost exactly flat on the table the sky scraper caused a menacing slap concerning everyone what just happened.

As gravity pulls me into my chair at the table for tea He says “tea time!” and lays his hands out presenting my dinner to me.

As I'm eating and digesting dinner in the corner of my eyes I glimpse a blurred a little arm throw itself back and yoink a bit of meat towards me, the brown torpedo glides through the air ready to eliminate enemy bases strikes into my hand crawling out into my drink as the little air socket bubbles fizz and rise to the top causing little geysers as the juices and thick brown/red blood lurks around my glass like a ghost, venison lemonade.

It's bedtime, as Sonny hops into bed He says “monsters” . I know exactly what that means it's like he has his own little language of saying things.

I repetitively read him where the wild things are through the starry night until he dozes off as Max reminds me just of Sonny.

Arli week 2 Term 2 a special place descriptive writing

Kia Ora this is Arli from Grey Main School. This is the writing that I have been working on the past couple of days its aboout a special place of mine, enjoy.

PIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!! The Pohutukawa Trees swaying against the wind causing a calming white noise, cancelling noises like cars and other people strolling around.

The hot summer breeze produces small droplets of sweat racing down my back causing it to tickle then soaking into my t-shirt causing it to glue to my back with a dark wet patch.

The hokey pokey golden sand crawling up between my toes every time I take a step into the sand.

Me racing up and down the beach THUD THUD THUD! My feet land on the sand with a strong force and pace, the sand crunches, grinding all the little stone rock grains together then being compact like concrete making ground shock shiver up my shins into my knees with ultimate force.

The smell of the sticky sea salt crawling into my pores making me feel relaxed, calmed and softened in my muscles like my body has fallen asleep, so soothing.

I taste the salty mouthful of water that makes me feel the urge to throw up that I copped, gulped and swallowed diving head first into beautiful blue waves.

I jump into a not very welcoming wave not so sure that it's boogie boardible.

The top lip of the wave soars right over my head as I ride the wave into shore in one quick moment The wave drops its top lip right in front of me and eats me up like a giant blue smurf mouth, throwing me up the beach as the sand grates skin off my hip, elbows and knees.

Lying on the shore exhausted just where the wave rejected me and left me.

I spit the dehydrating salt water out my mouth as the salt water fries my grazes with a salty sting.

I wrap a towel around myself, reflecting on my good day ready to go home and chillax.

My special place is Kaiteriteri.

Trying to find a good spot like a bunch of wildebeest being chased by a lion.
I look around scavenging with my eyes
There's a manuka that looks like its made to climb.
The smell of wild nature climbing up the tree as my hands slip down the tree and branches the splintering wood spits of the tree. the higher up the better.
Muffled echoes and voices bouncing off all sorts of nature's creations like in a big corridor. I stop immediately, still like a tuatara trying not to make a move in my muscles before they hear the crumpled footsteps of me straggling up the tree. they walk up to the tree observing the tree with their torches desperate to find someone. there's more than one person seeking so i'm not the going to be the first one found they flash the spotlight right at me thick and thin all sorts of sizes streaks of light bundle over each other like a bunch of lasers in a highly secure bank but thanks to the thick manuka tree leaves im hidden camouflaged. minutes pass by, sitting in an uncomfortable position high up the tree the thrill of getting found pumps adrenaline in my veins every second of the wild night i come down the tree after 45 minutes sure to be the last one left “FOUND YOU!!” Half way down the tree I fell with a horrifying fright. I feel like a peregrine falcon diving into the salty ocean searching for fish at 390km per hour…...

Camp trip advisor review Arli W8

Did you know? that the guy who made the steadfast sailed from Australia to new Zealand in 38 days
What is the steadfast and why?
Well on my camp for 2020 I would like to share one of the activities that we did in the 5 days we were there.
The stead fast is a sailing ship in the Marlborough sounds that almost looks like a proper pirate ship this ship was built by one man himself it took a very big portion of his life 16 years!! Laurence etheredge (owner) and Richard de hamel (business Partner) have been running the steadfast tour for 13 years and take classes from all around new Zealand to sail on his boat and do all sorts of activities we got to use the old school way to detect our speed, drop a rope with a chunk of lead tied to it in the water to see how deep it is, steer the ship, look at marine vertebrates with a microscope, and be on watch for other boats in front of the ship including other sea life with the binoculars.Cruises | Steadfast Traditional Sail

I rate this activity 5/5.

moment in time description Arli camp

Bio luminescence

Bio luminescence. Bio luminescence is multiple similar marine vertebrates that enlighten a blue colour when being made contact with or swished around in the water these marine vertebrates only appear in salt water.

5 senses:

What can you feel: I feel the ripples of the water flowing into my hand.

What can you see: I see blue glitter in the pitch black water almost like a reflection of fireflies.

What can you Hear: I hear the cold night winds flowing and rustling the trees as the fish emerge up to eat insects on the surface of the water with a splash

What can you taste: I taste what i smell

What can you Smell: I smell the fresh salt on my nose as i lie on the jetty I smell the fishy squid that we cut up for bait earlier.

The boy who peed in a tree

Mum i don't want to do the dishes
I don't want any kisses
Stop being manipulating
I'm severely hating
You for bribing me with kisses
